RN to BSN Nursing Program Objectives
Upon successful completion of the program of study, it is expected that the graduate will:
- Synthesize knowledge from the humanities, sciences, and nursing as the foundation for clinical decision making and providing evidence-based care to individuals, families, communities, and populations.
- Provide person-centered nursing care to individuals, families, communities, and populations to foster optimal health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
- Apply population health perspectives in advocating for and responding to the diverse health needs of individuals, families, communities, and populations.
- Integrate scientific inquiry and best evidence to inform nursing practice, education, research, and policy.
- Implement quality improvement principles in provision of safe, cost-effective healthcare to promote a culture of safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to strengthen healthcare outcomes in a variety of settings.
- Utilize informatics and healthcare technologies at individual and system levels to support nursing practice.
- Develop professional identity through adherence to ethical, legal, and clinical practice professional standards.
- Demonstrate leadership through the practice of awareness, curiosity, resiliency, and reflection.
