Formerly known as the Moravian Writers鈥 Conference, this year鈥檚 newly rebranded Moravian Story Summit brings a new name, a new look, and a new theme: Crafting Stories in an Uncertain World.
All events are free and open to students, faculty, and members of the community.
Across two days of readings, workshops, and conversations, the Story Summit invites writers and creatives of all kinds to explore how storytelling helps us make meaning, navigate change, and stay connected in challenging times.
Highlights Include:

- AI & Creativity Panel and Hands-On Session 鈥 explore how emerging technologies can become creative partners, featuring Moravian faculty Randy Ziegenfuss, MaryJo Rosania-Harvey, and Austin Baker.
- How to Write Dark 鈥 a workshop with author Ruth Knafo Setton on finding light within the shadows of storytelling.
- Crafting Stories in an Uncertain World Panel 鈥 with acclaimed local authors Ruth Setton, Joyce Hinnefeld, and Lee Upton.
- Reimagining Failure 鈥 a craft talk with Lee Upton on turning failure into creative discovery.
- No River Twice Performance & Q+A 鈥 an improvisational poetry experience that invites audience participation.
- Closing Reception & Book Sale 鈥 enjoy refreshments and discover books by local authors and Story Summit speakers.
Come for a single session or spend the whole summit immersed in story, creativity, and connection.
Registration will open in early 2026.
