The 1742 Experience is a weeklong pre-orientation program for incoming first-year students. During the program, a select group of students participate in service activities at local non-profit organizations.
In a day-long celebration of Moravian tradition, community, and service, participants serve alongside local nonprofit organizations to address various community needs.
Community School Halloween Parades
In partnership with our community school, William Penn Elementary, we host an on-campus parade for students.
Housing & Food Insecurity Awareness Week
Housing and Food Insecurity Awareness Week includes a series of events aimed at educating the campus community about food insecurity and homelessness in November. Through discussions, service projects, and advocacy efforts, participants learn how to support those in need and take meaningful action.
Civil Rights & Equality Day
This event invites William Penn Elementary’s fifth grade classes to come to campus, enjoy a catered meal, and present their findings on the life and legacy of civil rights leaders, like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, to the Moravian community.
Staycation
Staycation is a program offered over Spring Break that aims to serve local Lehigh Valley nonprofits and provide experiences for students to gain a better understanding of the local community in which they live through education and service.
The Peace Corps Prep Program is a certificate program that helps students prepare for international service and careers in global development. Through coursework, hands-on experience, and professional skill-building, students develop the knowledge and competencies needed for Peace Corps service and other international opportunities.
America Reads*
Throughout the academic year, students are placed in local schools and community organizations to provide tutoring, in-class support, and enhance after-school enrichment programs.
Fellowships*
These positions play a key role in building and sustaining meaningful partnerships with local community organizations and support the planning and execution of major events and programs hosted through the Office of Campus Life.
