Independent Volunteering

Independent volunteer opportunities require limited time commitment and typically do not require recurring events or meetings over an extended period of time. Independent opportunities include:

  • Admissions - MAAPP: MAAPP is a partnership between the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement and the Admissions Office, which allows alumni and families to assist with recruiting future Greyhounds. Volunteer opportunities include attending college fairs, open houses, or Accepted Students Days, as well as participating in notecard and phone campaigns. Open houses and accepted Student Days are in-person opportunities on Moravian’s campus. Other programs are offsite or may be done from home.
  • Career Development: Serve as a mentor, meet for an informational interview (in person or virtually), speak on a panel, attend a career networking reception, act as a host at the annual Etiquette Dinner, or offer internships and job shadowing experiences at your workplace.
  • Class Reunion Committees: Reunion committees help plan milestone class reunions, which take place during Homecoming & Reunion Weekend. Responsibilities include contacting classmates and planning for the homecoming tailgate for your class. Video or phone conferencing enables long-distance alumni to attend the 1-3 committee meetings held during the year. This opportunity is open to undergraduate University alumni.
