Bio: Dr. Lee Barrett
Dr. Lee Barrett has four degrees from Yale University, including a BA, an MDiv, an MPhil, and a PhD in Religious Studies. Lee has been a Baptist, a Presbyterian, and is currently a member of the United Church of Christ. This background enables him to view theological matters from an expansive ecumenical perspective. His academic interests include modern theology, the philosophy of religion, religion and contemporary culture, Reformed theology, and Christianity and the visual arts. Lee teaches courses that integrate various types of theological reflection with different styles of spirituality. Many of these classes explore the plurality of approaches to ethics, consider different understandings of the person and work of Jesus Christ, and imagine possible futures for Christianity in the United States and the world. In all of his teaching and writing, Lee emphasizes the rich variety of types of Christianity that have flourished through the ages, and encourages a mutually enriching conversation among them.
