Goal is 50 Supporters

The ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Golf Program has had very successful fall seasons so far. Our men’s program won the Makuvek Cup for the 10th straight season and we finished 2nd in two other events with big tournament fields in each. The men also have had two individual medalist winners in events. Sophomore Austin Fulton won the Elizabethtown Invitational at Hershey Country Club with a -2 (69) in a field of 54 players. Freshman Zach Miller shot a -3 (69) at the Northampton Cup in his low medalist effort against a field of 78 players. Every player on the roster is currently averaging under their career scoring average, showing the effort they continue to put into their game. The men’s program is young and talented, which is why the future for the program is very bright.

The women’s program has had a breakthrough season so far this fall, logging the first two tournament wins in program history. Our women won The Weyhill Classic as well as a Triangular Event hosted by Marywood. In addition to the team success, junior Heidi Wegscheider is off to an incredible start this season. She has logged two individual wins, as well as posting a score of +2 (74) in the Golden Oaks Shootout which was a school record. Every player on the women’s roster is currently averaging under their career average as well.

New this year: Moravian Golf will be launching our inaugural indoor golf league this winter! Starting in the beginning of December, we will be hosting a weekly indoor simulator league in the Reinhard Golf Simulator Suite where we have a Trackman 4 along with a great list of different courses to play. The format for the league will depend on how many registrants we receive, and would most likely include being paired up with two or three alumni golfers each week. If you give a donation of $250+ during the Athletics Giving Challenge and you will have the opportunity to join the league. The league will take place Wednesday evenings over six weeks throughout December and January (holiday weeks will be off). This is a great opportunity to meet fellow Greyhounds and enjoy some of the great facilities that our program is able to use due to the generosity of our alumni and donors.

Your contributions to the Moravian Golf Program will help provide the support our athletes need to continue to push themselves to be the best golfers they can be. In order for us to provide our team with the highest of experiences, we try to compete in bigger tournaments with better competition that are hosted at top courses, and with your help this is all possible. Whether it is a Spring Break trip down to a tournament in Texas or a two-day tournament in western Pennsylvania, your contributions help to make these trips and lifelong experiences attainable.

Thank you in advance and for additional information regarding the golf program and how you can help reach their goals, please contact Director of Golf Noah Kandt at kandtn@moravian.edu.
